We don’t need a crystal ball to tell us that 2018 will be a great year for new restaurants in Chicago. On the heels of a stellar 2017, which saw major openings from esteemed restaurant groups and many smaller neighborhood joints, the new year offers exciting expansions, multi-tiered food halls and promising neighborhood spots. From a French-Spanish restaurant and a Japanese-inspired cocktail bar to a wave of hotel restaurants beyond Downtown, here’s what’s in store for the year to come.

Stefani Prime ETA: Spring The Stefani family of restaurants is branching out and beefing up in Lincolnwood this year as it prepares to open a steakhouse on the city’s Northwest fringes. The menu will include prime cuts of beef, seafood and some signature dishes that the Stefanis have become known for over the years at places like Tuscany on Taylor.
